Personal Influence Zones (PI Zones): A Pathway to High-Performance Insight

At the core of the Spiral Influensa philosophy is a crucial question: Why do people act the way they do, and how does that behavior impact collective success?

Personal Influence Zones (PI Zones) provide a powerful perspective on this question. As a key part of both the Personal Reinvention Framework and the Ultimate Enterprise Model (UEM), PI Zones uncover the hidden structure of human behavior. They reveal the unseen dynamics that drive trust, bias, influence, and performance, enabling individuals and leaders to act with clarity and precision.

Figure 1: Personal Influence Zones

The Personal Influence Scanner (PIS) Element’s diagram, as shown in Figure 1, introduces a new concept aimed at evaluating an individual’s societal influence regarding trust. Before pinpointing a location on the Nkinga Diamond, two spectrums emerge from private and public thoughts. The private reflection produces a score called the Individual Spectrum (IS), which includes Si (spiritual intelligence), CiMi (cognitive intelligence), and Mi (moral intelligence). This IS represents a singular viewpoint without counteraction, leading to what I designate as the Public Spectrum (PS).

Nonetheless, the counterreaction comes from the public and is referred to as the Public Spectrum (PS). The PS includes Ei (emotional intelligence), shaped by CiLi (cognitive intelligence), and overseen by Li (a form of moral intelligence perceived publicly, as detailed in the Personal Reinvention section).

Mapping Influence Through the Personal Influence Scanner (PIS)

The Personal Influence Scanner (PIS) is the diagnostic tool of the PI Zones framework. It evaluates a person’s influence by examining two key spectrums:

  1. Individual Spectrum (IS)
    1. The IS represents a person’s inner world—private thoughts, intentions, and values. It includes:
      1. Si – Spiritual Intelligence
      2. CiMi – Cognitive Intelligence (Internal)
      3. Mi – Moral Intelligence (Private)
    2. The IS is unfiltered and untouched by public interpretation. It directly reflects how one views themselves and the world.
  2. Public Spectrum (PS)
    1. The PS captures the public response—how an individual is perceived through emotional, intellectual, and ethical lenses. It includes:
      1. EiEmotional Intelligence
      2. CiLi – Cognitive Intelligence (Interpreted)
      3. Li – Moral Intelligence (Public Perception)
    2. The PS acts as a counterbalance to the IS, representing how personal views are challenged, accepted, or modified by social interaction.

Understanding the Zones: PUER vs. CUER

At the intersection of IS and PS lie two powerful regions that define a person’s Influence Alignment:

  1. PUER Pro-Ultimate Enterprise Region
    1. Represents balance and integrity between inner and outer spectrums
    2. Signals consistency, transparency, and trustworthiness
    3. Individuals in PUER exhibit coherent behaviour, driving authentic leadership and high performance
  2. CUER Contra-Ultimate Enterprise Region
    1. Reflects mismatch, distortion, or fragmentation between IS and PS
    2. May manifest as egocentrism, over-altruism, self-deception, or misalignment
    3. Signals the need for self-recovery (SR) and recalibration

Visual Framework: The Nkinga Diamond

The PI Zones model is mapped within a diamond-shaped influence matrix known as the Nkinga Diamond. This structure reflects how individuals and teams naturally distribute along a spectrum of influence—like a bell curve—highlighting both areas of strength and those needing growth.

Before locating someone on the diamond, the IS and PS values are assessed. These scores create a unique influence profile, offering insight into decision-making, trustworthiness, communication, and leadership potential.

The Comfort Zone Effect

The Comfort Zone—often seen as a safe space—can be misleading. When comfort aligns with CUER traits, it may mask avoidance, complacency, or internal conflict.

Through PI Zones, we encourage purposeful discomfort—inviting individuals and teams to self-recover, exit dysfunctional comfort zones, and grow toward the PUER state of clarity, balance, and optimized influence.

Practical Application For:

  1. Individuals: Identify personal blind spots and recalibrate for greater authenticity and influence.
  2. Teams: Build trust by understanding how diverse IS and PS profiles interact.
  3. Organizations: diagnose cultural misalignments and realign performance with values and purpose.

Conclusion: Aligning Inner Truth with Outer Trust

Personal Influence Zones form the connective tissue between the self and society, between authenticity and perception. By harmonizing the Individual Spectrum (IS) with the Public Spectrum (PS), Spiral Influensa’s Ultimate Enterprise Model empowers teams to transcend bias, foster trust, and activate lasting performance.

You’re not just managing behaviour—you’re mastering influence at its source.
